This article is for stores that installed B2B Wholesale Hub after February 5 2026. If you installed Wholesale Hub before February 5 2026, follow the theme installation guide.
Order Minimums lets you require wholesale customers to meet minimum item quantities or order totals before checkout. You can create up to 25 rules.
To get started, click Add rule. Then, select what your rules will apply to:
Cart: apply a set of rules to the customer’s cart total
Collections: apply a set of rules to specific collections
Products: apply product-specific rules
Variants: apply rules to selected variants
After selecting what your rule applies to, you’ll specify the conditions. For Cart minimums, there are two rule types.
Cart total quantity: Require a minimum number of items before checkout.
Cart total amount: Require a minimum cart value before checkout.
Collections, Product, and Variant minimums: require a minimum order quantity before checkout.
Cart total quantity
In Order Minimums, click Add rule. Apply to Cart. Then, under Type, select Cart total quantity.
The Quantity will allow you to specify the quantity of items a wholesale customer will need to purchase before completing their order.
Choose the customer tag, then click Save. Customers must be logged in before going to the checkout in order for these minimums to apply.
You can control the messaging for this minimum under Order minimums > Settings.
Cart total amount
In Order Minimums, click Add rule. Apply to Cart. Then, under Type, select Cart total amount.
The Quantity will allow you to specify the minimum amount a customer’s cart total should be before going to the checkout. Minimums will be applied to the total after discounts are applied.
Choose the wholesale customer tag, then click Save.
You can control the messaging for this minimum under Order minimums > Settings.
Collections, Product, and Variant minimums
If your order minimums apply to Collections, Products, or Variants, you’ll assign a minimum order quantity. Click Browse collections and apply the collections, products, or variants your rule will apply to.
Then, in the Quantity field, specify the minimum order quantity this rule will apply to.
Select Require ordering in multiples to enforce customers to purchase in predetermined increments. For example, if you sell soda as a 6-pack, you’ll want to require multiples - that way your customers can only purchase 6, 12, 18, etc.
If you’re requiring your customers to order in multiples, you’ll want to configure the Multiples message. This can be done in the Order minimums > Settings.
Lastly, choose the wholesale customer tags the minimum will apply to. Then, Save.
On the storefront
Product page
On the product page, customers will see an "Order minimums apply" disclaimer. Hovering over this message will display the amount or quantity required to meet the minimum requirements.
If the customer qualifies for more than one minimum, they'll see all applicable messages in this "Order minimums apply" disclaimer. If a product belongs to multiple collections with active rules, they customer will see up to two messages; all rules will still apply, but only two messages can be displayed.
You can edit the text for this message by going to the Order Minimums > Settings.
If customers attempt to add an amount or quantity below the order minimum rule, they’ll see an error message, and will not be able to add to cart.
Note: This message may appear differently depending on your theme; sometimes it will appear on the product page, sometimes it may show as a banner at the top of the page.
At Checkout
When using cart total minimums, if the cart total is under the minimum, customers will see a red banner at the checkout
