Important: Order Minimums is currently only available to stores that installed Wholesale Hub before February 5, 2026. If you installed on or after that date, Order Minimums isn’t available yet.

Order Minimums lets you set eligibility requirements that wholesale customers must meet before they can check out. You can create minimums based on total items or order value, require minimum quantities, and even force customers into buying in set multiples (for example, buying by the case.)

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up each type of minimum and what customers see if they don’t meet it. You’ll learn how to create each type of minimum, how messaging works when customers don’t meet requirements, and what customers experience in the cart and at the checkout.

Creating cart quantity or cart value minimums

Cart quantity or cart value minimums are used to create order eligibility requirements for each customer group. These minimums must be met before a wholesale customer can place an order.

Under minimum eligibility, choose what the minimum is based on:

  • Total quantity: total number of items in the order

  • Total value after discount: order total after wholesale discounts

  • Total value before discount: order total before wholesale discounts

If the customer does not reach the minimum eligibility for wholesale orders, they will receive a message on the cart page. Enter a custom message in the cart message field or leave it blank to display the default message.

Creating collection minimums

Select the Collection option to create rules that require customers to purchase a minimum number of products from a collection. A minimum order quantity can be set for each collection.

In the example below, a customer tagged “Gold” would be required to purchase 10 products from the Arts & Craft collection and 12 products from the Bed & Bath collection.

Creating product minimums

Select Product to require a minimum quantity of a specific product. This minimum applies to all variants of that product.

In the example below, a customer tagged “Silver” who adds a product to their cart from the Arts & Crafts collection would be required to purchase a minimum of 20 of that product.

Creating variant minimums

Select the Variant option to create rules that require customers to purchase a minimum number of variants. The minimum order quantity will be the same for all variants within a collection.

In the example below a customer tagged “Bronze” would be required to purchase a minimum of 5 of any variant within the Arts & Crafts collection and Bed & Bath collection.

Requiring multiples for minimums

Select the Requires multiples checkbox to require customers to purchase in multiples. Use this feature to ensure your wholesale customers are purchasing your product by the case.

In the example below, wholesale customers will be required to purchase in increments of 12 (ie. 12, 24, 36, 48).

Wholesale customers will receive a message in the cart if they do not meet the order requirements. The subtotal will revert to the retail price and the checkout will not be accessible until the order has been adjusted, as pictured in the example below.
