Filters won't show up on your collection pages unless you've completed the app's manual code install. Click here for manual install instructions.

For any filtering options not covered by automatic filters, you can create manual filters. Manual filters provide more fine-tuned control and are useful if you only want your filter to show on a specific collection.

Manual filters are controlled by adding or removing product tags from your products. Click here for more information on product tags.

Setting up a manual filter

First, enter the name of the filter you want to create in the Manual filter field:

Settings for creating manual filters in Collection Filter.

Click Save.

For any products you want to include in your manual filter, apply product tags comprising of the name of the filter, an underscore, and the name of the filter option.

For example, if you're creating a manual filter for Material, apply product tags like Material_Wool, Material_Leather, Material_Cotton, and so on.

A product tag in the Shopify admin for use with manual filters.

To edit product tags in bulk, you can export a product CSV from Shopify and edit the tags column in Excel or Google Sheets. Learn more about exporting products in Shopify.
