Use Shopify Flow with Alliance Pro to automate tasks in your store and across your apps. In this article, learn how to integrate Shopify Flow with Alliance Pro to allow you to set up automated workflows and efficiently manage tasks and processes.

To get started, install the Shopify Flow app from the Shopify App Store and access it in your Shopify admin. Shopify Flow monitors your store for events and allows you to create automated workflows by building sequences of actions in response to these events using components such as triggers, conditions, and actions.

Flow components

  • A trigger is an event that starts a workflow. It can be something that happens in your store or in an app. A good example of a trigger could be a member placing an order in your Shopify Plus store.

  • A condition defines when a workflow continues. For example, you can run an action only when a member places an order worth more than $300

  • An action is the change Shopify Flow makes when the conditions are met. For example, if a customer places an order with a value of more than $300, you can have a workflow that adds a tag to that customer’s account.

Some example use cases with Alliance Pro

  • Tag customers as "Alliance Pro" members when their application is approved.

  • Send an email notification when a member reaches a specific discount amount total or is close to their limit.

  • Add tags to orders created by members.

  • Send internal emails when members place orders, based on tags from other workflows.

Create a new workflow

There are two ways to get started with the Shopify Flow app. Create a workflow from scratch or browse templates. To create a workflow from scratch, click Create workflow.

How it works:

  2. Select the trigger Application approved.

  3. Add an action, then search for and select Add customer tags under Shopify.

  4. Under Tags, click the </> icon to open the Alliance Pro variables.

  5. Select {{memberGroupName}} and press Enter.

Once saved, this Flow will automatically tag approved members with their member group name — keeping your customer records organized and easy to segment.
